Barcoding: The Perspective of a Medium-sized Facility in a Developing Country

This webinar will deal with the perspective of a medium-sized barcoding facility in a developing country. The presentation will briefly cover the steps of the pipeline as are implemented in the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales “Bernardino Rivadavia” (the National Museum of Natural Science of Argentina), including collection, processing of specimens and samples, the molecular laboratory steps (extraction and amplification) and data analysis. Additionally, the strategy of a small- to medium-sized facility will be discussed, focusing on the experience of the group at this museum that has been involved in barcoding since 2005.
