international online community for dna barcoding professionals
FOURTH INTERNATIONAL BARCODE OF LIFE CONFERENCE, UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, DURING THE WEEK OF 28 NOVEMBER 2011!
The exact dates of the conference and pre- and post-conference meetings will be determined in the coming weeks. All announcements will appear on the official conference website (http://www.dnabarcodes2011.org/). Background information on Adelaide and the conference venue will be posted in the coming days so bookmark this website!
Dr. Andrew Lowe is the Conference Chair and he has already assembled an excellent local organizing committee with strong links to other institutions and the Australian national barcoding network. CBOL is forming a Program Committee that will issue calls for abstracts, select speakers and poster presentations, and structure the conference agenda.
There are still many decisions facing the conference organizers, which is why we’ve gathered lots of feedback from the Mexico City conference and are taking your suggestions into serious consideration. A major concern for those who attended the Mexico City conference was the distance between the conference venue, hotels, and local attractions. This concern was one of the many reasons that Adelaide, the '20 minute walking city', was selected to host this meeting.
Conference organizers will be looking for continued community feedback on Connect as they tackle the challenge of striking the right balance among plenary sessions, parallel technical sessions, and pre- and post-conference workshops. Share your suggestions on the number of parallel technical sessions, length of the conference, and ‘wishlist’ items NOW on the Wishlist for the NEXT International Barcode Conference discussion thread.
