- Title: Multigene phylogenetics and DNA-based identification of Colletotrichum species from India
This study aims to:
1) To investigate the taxonomic diversity of Colletotrichum members based on phylogenetic analysis of multi-gene sequence-data
This will be achieved by Maximum likelihood and Bayesian analyses of multigene sequence-data from the available extype and ex-epitype strains and selected taxonomically important nontype strains of Indian origin.
2) To develop an internet-based DNA-centric identification tool for Colletotrichum species/ species complexes from India
For each strain, morphological and gene-sequence data will be organized in the form of simple database that will be accessible online to taxonomic endusers through a dedicated website. The open-source BLASTn algorithm will be used to search the query sequence with databases sequences.
