Hello and welcome Richard!

Thank you for taking the time to join. As host, I am contacting you to suggest a few things that you can do to take advantage of our online community.

Simple Things You Can Do

After completing your online profile you should add yourself to the member map – this adds a geographic location to each community member.
A great next step is to invite your colleagues and search our members for people you know and invite them to be your colleague on the network.
Another thing to do is to browse our Forum and ask a question or leave a comment.
Please join a Group or start your own, as groups are a great way to express your special interest, be it a taxonomic group, a regional or organizational affiliation.
Have a question? Ask one of our hosts or post it to our FAQ page.

Some Advanced Things You Can Do

If you have something to say, start a Blog. Simply choose “Add a Blog Post” under Blogs. Blogging has never been easier.
If you already have a blog or another online resource, you can share it either on your profile page or through our rss pages. Just ask me how.
Manage a Group! Create a group and invite colleagues to join the network and your group. Use the “Send Message to Group” feature to email everyone in your group, start discussion threads specific to your group’s interests, add widgets and more.

For assistance with any of the things please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Again, thank you for joining our growing online community for barcoders. I look forward to connecting with you soon.

rick,

I met Neil Sadker today and he has developed software to extract data from publications electronically - including as i verified tonight, georeferences and species names (even when spelt incorrectly) - I discussed mosquito map and he got very excited about his applications utility for gleaning data from existing publications electronically and has even suggested he has funds to help do that.....worth pursuing with him for you and Des??
