I am about to start my work on Barcoding the Moths of North-East India and could absolutely use any help that I can get.
The works of Cameron and Whiting, amongst others, have led me to thinking about the possibility of using additional mt genes, apart from the conventional COI. The data on nad2, nad3 and nad4 seems convincing.
I would like to know the limitations or pitfalls of using longer gene sequences for purpose of establishing phylogeny, since I am targeting… Continue

- i collected Pyraustin species from Hafflong, Guwahati and many other areas of NE for my Phd work; but that is past; now i am going to start afresh with stress on Bar coding. Please suggest from where i can have the wet-lab training to achieve desired goals. where are you based. Do you have these facilities.

Congratulations on your exciting new initiative! A question. Are you or another in your team aiming eventually to cover microlepidopteran groups? Rodolphe Rougerie and I (with colleagues) have as it happens just published on the so far known Micropterigidae of North-east India (check out also project MICZS). If you don't have the paper, I'll be happy to send you. I really hope you can find some more!
