Hi, I'm trying to help with an undergraduate genetics lab that is planning to obtain barcodes from mixed lettuces and give the Prof (my sister) a protocol for searching the DBs for hits. I see that NCBI has a PopSet collection (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/popset) with COI and RbcL sequences, and can be searched in a dialog box.
