Comment by A HA on March 14, 2011 at 9:53pm Hello, I'm aha from Asia region. I use molecular techniques for species identification from processed food. I'm new to DNA barcoding techniques and would like to know any training courses and conferences that would help me to grisp on this techniques and data analysis. Your input are highly appreciated. Thanks

there is a training program mechanism - via the Leading Lab Network fellowships. You can go to a regional or national barcoding lab (Guelph, Smithsonian, Panama, Mexico are closest to you) and learn more about throughput, data pipelines, methods, etc. You need to bring something to the table - what will be the benefit to the larger barcoding enterprise if they invest in your training. pick a lab, write a proposal (the lab can help) and submit - they can cover travel, housing - you usually need to negotiate the rest with the host lab...
