Using statistics, not only you can guess about the origin of species under investigation but can also provide information about the evolutionary constraints acted on them. How organisms diversified, how geographical factors affected the evolution of these species.
What kind of statistic tools can be applied for better analysis ??
For every analysis there are hundreds of tools publicly available, So you should know which one is best suited for your analysis.
