Event Description

We are organizing a one day symposium on "DNA BARCODING: A PROMISING TOOL FOR SPECIES IDENTIFICATION AND BIODIVERSITY DIGITIZATION" on 30 Jan 2012 at the National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE), Faisalabad, Pakistan. The main objective of this activity is to introduce barcoding to the scientific community, academia, students and the stakeholders in biodiversity conservation. The symposium will also be used as a forum to discuss ways and means the scientific and non-scientific community could work together to barcode species of Pakistan. We are interested to invite few speakers from abroad who could deliver online presentations through SKYPE on topics directly related to DNA barcoding. I hope barcode community in general and members of connect.barcodeof life.net will respond.
Talks on topics, such as barcoding museum collections, biodiversity documentation through DNA barcodes etc will be appreciated.
